Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Huon d'Auvergne is an unedited text of which several manuscripts have come down to modern times. The earliest manuscript, now in Berlin, is dated by the author to 1341. That Berlin version contains many Latin quotes, primarily from the Old and New Testaments, psalms and portions of the liturgy. Particularly striking is the framing of the Latin quotes by lines from psalm 118. The choice of quotations from that psalm and their position in the text together with the plot of the poem suggest to the reader the need for appropriate obedience from rulers (lay and clerical) and their subjects.
