Zusammenfassung:Abstract: Considering the potential use of cement-stabilized loess (CSL) as a construction material forstructures that are subjected to frequent loesslandslides, this paper explores the stabilization andimprovement of geotechnical characteristics of loessachieved by the addition of o%-9% cement by dryweight. Laboratory evaluations investigated theconsistency limits, compaction, compressibility,California bearing ratio (CBR), direct shear strength, and unconfined compression strength (UCS) of CSLfor different curing stages. A durability index wasquantified to estimate the influence of wetting-drying(w-d) cycles on CSL strength, and an optimumcement dosage was also identified. The results revealthat the cohesion of CSL is substantially moresensitive to structure than its friction angle and thatcohesion is responsible for shear strength increaseafter remoulding.
