David Gwyn Seymour

Academic research Gwyn himself became a pioneer in medicine for the elderly when he focused his research on a hitherto little explored area: risk prediction in elderly surgical patients. In 2008 he was awarded the British Geriatric Society president's gold medal for his contribution to academic geriatrics. In private life, whether he was playing his beloved cello with his many musical friends, campaigning for the Labour Party (which he did for 40 years), or just at home being a great son, husband, and dad to his adored children, Tirion and Ieuan, everyone looked forward to whatever he had in store for them that day-usually a great deal of laughter.
