Zusammenfassung:To speak of housing in Spain is to speak of the “housing problem”, the “Spanish property boom” or the “property bubble”. Against this background, this work consists of an analysis of the problem of the affordability of housing in Spain by areas. The territorial level of the study is the autonomous communities (ACs). The aim is to assess which ACs have the best conditions for the affordability of owner-occupied housing. Four groups of variables have been used to achieve this aim: variables related to the supply of housing, house price variables, variables connected to housing policy and variables associated with the features and fittings of housing. The methodology used is multi-criteria programming. This technique has been chosen because it allows us to include all the variables deemed relevant in the objective function and show the ACs in which the affordability criteria used are optimised.
