Zusammenfassung: | In this paper a hierarchical Gamma model for the Bayesian analysis of unemployment times with covariates is proposed. We model the hazard function of each individual through a Gamma distribution related to a set of explanatory variables. Following the Bayesian paradigm, we obtain an approximation to the posterior distribution using Markov Chain Monte Carlo techniques. We apply the theoretical model proposed to the analysis of unemployment data from the Labor Force Survey (EPA). The sample is restricted to men and women from Valencia (Spain), with no work experience and who are searching for their first job. |
