Zusammenfassung:	Olive cultivars differed significantly concerning the number of buds per shoot, percentage of burst buds, and floral buds borne on one-year-old shoot. Time of flowering varied in the cultivars studied differently in two successive years of investigation. It is uncertain whether chilling hours or the number of heat units influenced this phenomenon more. Sex expression depended as well on cultivar as on climatic conditions of the year.
