Zusammenfassung: | Light weaponry increased its production and use as tools for warfare because of the increase in insurgent, separatist and sectarian conflicts in many parts of the world. Statistics show that light weapons, which include small arms, landmines, mortars and other light munitions, caused greater harm and damages to people and properties than major weapon systems. Nations of the world have to stop the proliferation of these weapons to prevent further human and economic losses. This can be done by tightening the controls in arms trafficking, particularly in the small nations. |
