TCT-307 Rapid Ventricular Pacing is Associated With Worse Outcomes After Trans-Catheter Aortic Valve Replacement

Background Rapid ventricular pacing (RVP) is used during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) to temporarily reduce the cardiac output and allow valve implantation without the risk of movement. Compared with patients who underwent less than 3 pacing episodes, patients undergoing 3+ pacing e...

Zusammenfassung:Background Rapid ventricular pacing (RVP) is used during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) to temporarily reduce the cardiac output and allow valve implantation without the risk of movement. Compared with patients who underwent less than 3 pacing episodes, patients undergoing 3+ pacing episodes were significantly more likely to have a significant rise in troponin and CPK levels, to suffer from sustained intra-procedural hypotension, atrial fibrillation, and stroke.
