Zusammenfassung: | Objective: To investigate the association between the intensity of symptoms of lower urinary tract and the ultrasonographic findings in patients attending the urology outpatient clinic of a university hospital. Methods: Observational and cross-sectional study conducted at a university hospital in 2013, in which patients with clinical and ultrasonographic (USG) diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) were evaluated through direct interview, by applying a form that collected data such as age, aspects of the ultrasound report, and the quantification of symptoms, by means of the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS).
