Conserved quantities of conservative continuous systems by Mei symmetries

In this paper, the notion of Mei symmetry and associated conserved quantities for conservative continuous systems is analyzed. Starting from the equations of motion of the systems, the definition of Mei symmetry is given, and a criterion is obtained. The Mei and Noether conserved quantities related to Mei symmetries are constructed and compared, as well as a new type of conserved quantity induced by Mei symmetries. Existence conditions are derived. An example illustrating the procedure is given.
