Zusammenfassung:In this last decade, terrorist activities directed toward executives of multinational enterprises have increased at an alarming rate. Many international businessmen face a daily threat of executive kidnapping, particularly if they are stationed abroad. Many multinational firms are readjusting corporate strategy to try to deal with kidnappings by implementing a new type of management orientation called crisis management.Crisis management involves taking thorough precautionary measures for the safety of multinational executives in the US and overseas and formulating guidelines for the business and the executive who must respond to a kidnapping and its aftermath. Executives are given instruction on ways they can help prevent being a victim of kidnapping, which include maintaining a low profile, keeping a daily list of appointments for all members of the family, never discussing financial matters in public, and installing security devices at home and in the office.
