Zusammenfassung: | The African National Congress (ANC), which has governed South Africa since the end of apartheid, is in decline. The party has been rattled by cases of corruption involving the president Jacob Zuma and has lost the trust of part of its electorate. Contested from the left and the right, it has been defeated in the 2016 municipal elections in numerous big cities. The future of the ANC will be determined in part at its national conference in December 2017, where what happens after Zuma will be decided. |
