Zusammenfassung: | To be an AASL affiliate, each state, territory, District of Columbia, or multistate regional organization must meet the following criteria (AASL Plan for Affiliation 1999): * The purposes of the organization must be compatible with those of AASL as verified by the organization's constitution and/or bylaws. * The organization must hold regular conferences or meetings. * The organization must have a systematic channel of communication with its membership (such as a newsletter, electronic discussion list, and so on). * Twenty-five of the organization's personal members or ten percent of the organization's membership, whichever is smaller, must be a member of ALA and AASL. * The president and the delegates must be personal members of ALA and AASL. During these sessions, affiliate delegates: * meet the leaders of AASL and ALA; * discuss issues of concern; * pinpoint areas that merit intervention from AASL; * share successes, accomplishments, and challenges; * identify trends and developments; * commend people and organizations for their support of school library media programs; and * network with their peers and Affiliate Assembly officers. |
