Zusammenfassung: | Instead, cognitive apprenticeship, a naturalistic paradigm for teaching and learning in which mentors guide novices through real-world learning tasks with the goal of giving expert skills and strategies, is one means of bridging the gap between current and evolving understandings of ICT. ICT literacy includes diverse knowledge (for example, the difference between fact and opinion; the differences between the hidden and visible Web), strategies (such as when to use a magazine index instead of the OPAC; what clues help determine the authenticity of an e-mail message), and processes (for example, how to read an expository text; how to collaborate effectively using social networking tools). Media specialists, comfortable with using subject headings to build authority files for their OPACs, might be interested in learning how to tag library materials or links for the media center's Web site.\n These tools can also engage educators across boundaries such as geography, discipline, and institution to support meaningful professional development. |
