Zusammenfassung: | Over the past ten years public demands for accountability in broadcasting began to be felt all over Western Europe. This resulted in the creation of several new bodies to arbitrate complaints about the performance of broadcasting, and in attempts to grant some form of access to the media for individuals and organizations. The levelling off of growth of the media institutions, particularly in television, when the saturation point apparently was reached, in geographical coverage, audience viewing time and income, also encouraged this re-examination of goals, purposes, and organization in many broadcast systems. |
