Minimally invasive versus open distal pancreatectomy for ductal adenocarcinoma (DIPLOMA): A European propensity score matched study

MIDP patients were matched to ODP patients in a 1:1 ratio based on propensity scores (obtained via multivariable logistic regression including only preoperatively variables: age, sex, BMI, ASA, prior abdominal surgery, neoadjuvant therapy, year of surgery and tumor size, involvement of other organs...

Zusammenfassung:MIDP patients were matched to ODP patients in a 1:1 ratio based on propensity scores (obtained via multivariable logistic regression including only preoperatively variables: age, sex, BMI, ASA, prior abdominal surgery, neoadjuvant therapy, year of surgery and tumor size, involvement of other organs and tumor location on preoperative imaging). Conclusion: This pan-European propensity score matched analysis confirmed short-term benefits (blood loss and complications) of MIDP for patients with PDAC whereas oncologic safety remains uncertain.
