Vortex varix manifesting as choroidal melanoma

A 45 year old man was referred by his optometrist with a suspected choroidal melanoma in the right eye (black arrow). The dynamic nature of this lesion is in keeping with a varix of the vortex vein, and is entirely benign and visually asymptomatic.
