Zusammenfassung: | Nowadays, practical dynamic systems have become more and more complex. The challenging issues of modelling and controlling complex dynamic systems (CDS) are carefully considered and properly addressed. All characteristics that constitute CDS are discussed in many details. A short but useful historical overview of decision support systems (DSS) is given. The need for new conceptual and advanced models for addressing the challenging issues of CDS is provided. Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) as a new modelling approach is briefly described. Two illustrative examples are provided along with some very promising and useful research results. Some drawbacks of the FCM approach are provided and analyzed. Finally interesting conclusions and future research directions are provided. |
