Zusammenfassung:This article highlights examples of practical and meaningful strategies that helped three new faculty members transition to a higher education environment. They reflect on experiences that influenced adaptation to a new workplace environment. Both institutional and personal factors that assisted in the transition are described. The focus of this article is the reflection of three teacher educators moving from various educational settings to a four-semester, teacher education program designed to prepare teacher candidates for initial licensure. The elementary teacher education program is housed on the regional campus of a midwestern university in the US. In preparation for a conference presentation to educators working as professors across multiple disciplines and campuses, people reflected on the strategies that offered a positive learning environment for successful integration into the new university culture.
