Determination of Trichomonas Prevalence in a Distinct Military Population

An abstract of the study by Weger et al determining the prevalence of trichomonas among military beneficiaries in the San Antonio area. Methods used of APTIMA Trichomonas assay developed by GenProbe Inc. for use with thin prep samples, as a process improvement project by the SAMMC Clinical Investigation Department. Also noted the results wherein none of significant variation in infection rates by age and none of active duty status on the prevalence of T. vaginalis infection.
