Zusammenfassung: | An abstract of a study by Wilson et al examining adolescent males' refusal skills and self-regulatory behaviors associated with intentions to engage in sexual behaviors is presented. Findings indicated higher levels of self-regulatory behaviors decreased males' intentions to engage in sexual behaviors. While Hispanic/Latino high school males and those in younger grades reported less intention to engage in sexual behaviors, continued instruction and messaging about pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention must be early, targeted, and culturally-relevant to improve adolescent males' health outcomes. |
