Zusammenfassung: | An abstract of a study by Ercan et al examining the relationships between perceived peer support (PPS), liking school and feeling pressure from schoolwork in Turkish adolescents, and determining whether PPS in school was a protective component for these young people which permitted them to like school despite pressure is presented. Although PPS was positively correlated with liking school in his group pf Turkish adolescents, it didn't relate to feeling pressured by schoolwork and it didn't reduce the negative effect of schoolwork pressure on liking school. Further studies will be necessary to determine which factors are responsible for Turkish students' liking school despite feeling pressured, with the implications that these findings might have in helping to create a more supportive school climate. |
