Zusammenfassung:This paper is a comparative analysis of the film Snow White by Pablo Berger, in 2012, and the homonymous story by the Brothers Grimm, in 1812. It consists of an introduction about the historical and literary background of Snow White's character, an analysis of the staging (characters, space, time, costumes, makeup, lighting, sets, expression and movement), cinematography, the plane, the scene and edited sequences, as well as sound. All this, in order to clarify the interest of the character of Snow White throughout history and the intentionality, in general, that moves authors to choose this iconic female character as the protagonist of their works and, in particular, the intention of Pablo Berger in using Snow White in his silent film in black and white two thousand years later.
