Zusammenfassung:The tenth epistle in the second 'década' of Francisco Cascales's Cartas filológicas (1634) is a collection of epigrams addressed and dedicated to Bartolomé Jiménez Patón. The 33rd epigram is a praise to Cascales's birthplace titled De foecunditate urbis Murciae. In this paper, we show how that epigram bears an undeniable and very curious relation with an encyclopedic compendium by the French humanist Ravisius Textor, the Cornucopiae (1519), because this is not only the source of information, but also the source of inspiration to Cascales' poem.
