D15 CRITICAL CARE: DO WE HAVE A CRYSTAL BALL? PREDICTING CLINICAL DETERIORATION AND OUTCOME IN CRITICALLY ILL PATIENTS: The Association Between Pre-Hospital Vulnerability, The Development Of Ards And Mortality Among At-Risk Adults: Results From The Lips-A Randomized Clinical Trial
Methods: In the multicenter, randomized clinical trial of adults at high risk of ARDS in the Lung Injury Prevention study-Aspirin, we measured pre-hospital vulnerability using the Vulnerable Elders Survey (VES-13), a simple function-based tool validated to predict death/functional decline in non-cri...

Zusammenfassung: | Methods: In the multicenter, randomized clinical trial of adults at high risk of ARDS in the Lung Injury Prevention study-Aspirin, we measured pre-hospital vulnerability using the Vulnerable Elders Survey (VES-13), a simple function-based tool validated to predict death/functional decline in non-critically ill elderly patients in which a score >3 is considered frail. Abbreviations: VES - Vulnerable Elders Survey; IQR - Interquartile Range; BMI- Body Mass Index; SOFA - Sequential Organ Failure Assessment; LIPS - Lung Injury Prevention Score; ARDS - Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome; ALI - Acute Lung Injury; IL-8- Interleukin 8; ICU - Intensive Care Unit; LOS - Length of Stay This abstract is funded by: |
