Zusammenfassung:Corresponding author's email: adir-sh@zahav.net.il Introduction: Eosinophilic airway inflammation and blood eosinophilia in chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) patients can predict exacerbation risk and response to corticosteroid treatments. In the current study we studied the prevalence of blood eosinophilia in COPD patients with severe exacerbation in baseline and at exacerbation, the relation between blood eosinophils level to the number of exacerbation and the effect of inhaled corticosteroid treatment (ICS) Methods: We retrospectively review the charts of COPD patient diagnosed with severe execration - treatment in the emergency room for more than 24 hours or hospitalization due to COPD exacerbation, between January 1,2005 and November 31,2015.
