Zusammenfassung:Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study to characterize the variation in use of DNR orders in a nationally-representative sample of older patients hospitalized in the United States and investigated associations between regional variation in DNR rates and end-of-life healthcare utilization. Conclusions: We identified wide regional variation in DNR orders among hospitalized older adults in the United States that was unexplained by patient characteristics.
