Zusammenfassung: | Discussion Various endoscopic interventions have been described for BPF treatment such as bronchoscopic placement of blood patch/fibrin glue/gel foam, use of bronchial blockade, submucosal injection of ethanol, and stent insertion.1,3,4 Most often, stents are placed with the intent of excluding the BPF from the airflow.5 In many instances, the difference between the diameter of the trachea and the main stem, the location of the BPF, and the local unavailability of stents with desired lengths make such interventions challenging. Frequently, tracheobronchial stents tend to migrate, which increases the risk of treatment failure in BPF.6 Although our patient is only one month post-stenting, we presume that telescoping technique not only helped by ensuring complete sealing of the BPF but by preventing stent migration as well. |
