D97 IMPACT OF INFLAMMATION ON ACUTE LUNG INJURY: Being A Good Influence? Alveolar Type 2 Cells Dampen Macrophage Inflammatory Response In Acute Lung Injury Via Glycolysis Driven Mechanism

Zusammenfassung:Introduction Loss of type II airway epithelial cells (ATII) is a key pathologic feature of acute lung injury (ALI), a clinical syndrome responsible for high mortality and significant morbidity. Shifting glucose metabolism away from glycolysis either with a chemical inhibitor or with genetic knock down altered the ability of epithelial cells to inhibit macrophage responsiveness to LPS.
