Zusammenfassung:On admission the patient's vital signs were significant for: respiratory rate 21/min, temperature 96.4 F, white blood count 22.3 109/L with 95% neutrophils, and oxygen saturation 90% on room air. Blood patch pleurodesis is a safe, efficacious, and inexpensive salvage procedure, and should be considered when choosing treatment for these patients, especially if the patient is a poor surgical candidate.
