Zusammenfassung:	ADAM17, also known as tumor necrosis factor a (TNF-a) converting enzyme (TACE), cleaves the extracellular domain of various types of membrane-bound proteins and releases the soluble and active form of the proteins. Cell counts and cytokine concentration in BAL fluid and mRNA levels of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-a, IL-1b, and IL-6 in whole lung showed no significant difference between Adam17 cKO and the control mice 14 days after PPE treatment.
