Zusammenfassung:Rationale: Hyperpolarized helium-3 magnetic resonance imaging (HP 3He MRI) provides regional measurements of airway obstruction, potentially enhancing sensitivity to clinical outcomes in asthma. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis and statistical associations were used to evaluate a suite of biomarkers as classifiers of emergency department (ED) visits and hospitalizations, including VDP, eosinophils, neutrophils, and monocytes/macrophages in blood and sputum, forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) percent predicted (PP), FEV1 divided by forced vital capacity (FVC) PP, relative area under -856 Hounsfield units (RA-856) on CT, and residual volume divided by total lung capacity (RV/TLC).
