C33 NOVEL BIOMARKERS IN LUNG DISEASE: Evaluation Of Systemic Rantes/ccl5 As A Possible Biomarker In Stable COPD Subjects

The chemotactic activity of chemokines such as Regulated on Activation, Normal Tcell Expressed and Secreted (RANTES/CCL5) have been associated with recruitment of CD8+T cells and blood monocytes to the lung in COPD patients, and probably to the airway eosinophilia observed during acute exacerbation....

Zusammenfassung:The chemotactic activity of chemokines such as Regulated on Activation, Normal Tcell Expressed and Secreted (RANTES/CCL5) have been associated with recruitment of CD8+T cells and blood monocytes to the lung in COPD patients, and probably to the airway eosinophilia observed during acute exacerbation. There was no association between RANTES/CCL5 levels with GOLD class, CAT score, chronic bronchitis, supplemental oxygen use, comorbidities scores, lung function parameters, white blood cell count, systemic neutrophilia, and quality of life.
