Zusammenfassung: | Time Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network (TWDM-PON) has been opted being a key driver for Next Generation-Passive Optical Network2 (NG-PON2). This paper proposed the option of backward compatibility of TWDM-PON with conventional Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) a long with Radio Frequency Video Overlay has been demonstrated. The two versions of PON exist over the same infrastructure as per NG-PON2 requirement to investigate its feasibility and cost effectiveness. Further FTTP link based on 2.5 Gbps bi-directional GPON using multiple modulation formats is evaluated for the provisioning of triple play services including data, voice and video. The proposed system is a novel approach capable of providing backward compatibility and ‘pay-as-you grow’ features. This is an emerging solution for future bandwidth demands and allows telecommunications service providers with efficient network planning and expansion flexibility. The performance analysis and comparison is done using multiple modulation schemes and on the basis of eye diagram, Q factor, Optical Signal to Noise Ratio and optical power received. It is observed that Return to Zero-Differntial Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (RZ-DQPSK) for GPON and Non Return to Zero (NRZ) for TWDM-PON has better end-to-end results. |
