Zusammenfassung: | Portland cement production is responsible for approximately 5% of global emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) around the world. An Important contribution to the sustainability of this industry is the use of pozzolans that reduce the content of Portland cement for concrete Manufacturing, and more if the material used comes from a residue like construction and demolition; for that reason it is proposed the use of masonry waste as an alternative material to pozzolans. This article presents the experimental results of the characterization of a Masonry residue (RM) and its pozzolanic evaluation. The MRI in the first instance was submitted to a Milling and subsequent analysis using the techniques of X-ray fluorescence (FRX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Thermo-gravimetric (TG) analysis and electron microscopy (SEM). In addition, the effect of Incorporation of RM in the compressive strength in Portland cement mortars by replacing This in a range of 0 to 50% at different curing ages (7, 28, 65 and 90 days), as well as the properties of density and Porosity at 28 days of curing. The results show that this residue (RM) presents a pozzolanic behavior and their optimum percentage of replacement in Portland cement is 20%. |
