Zusammenfassung: | Gold nanocrystals display switchable plasmonic responses and colors when their surrounding environment is changed. Nina Jiang, Jianfang Wang, and Wenzheng Lu demonstrate in article number 1604862 that by growing a conductive polymer, polyaniline, the color of the gold nanocrystals can be distinctly and rapidly controlled by applying electrochemical potentials. Their discovery will help in developing new types of electrochromic smart windows and transparent displays. |
