Zusammenfassung: | We conducted the current grounded theory research to address the research question "do outstanding graduates tend to end up getting better jobs?" Toward this end, we conducted semi - structured interviews with 22 outstanding graduates and 9 employees. First, we found that many participants, i.e., outstanding graduates, were unable to secure good positions during their job search because of the discrepancy between the job information that these graduates received in college and the actual demands of the market. Second, we found that many participants were discriminated by job recruiters and senior employees on the basis of the physical attractiveness, social network, and sex of graduates. Third, we found that the metropolitan dream ofparticipants have created intense competitions for them during their job search. |
