Zusammenfassung: | An abstract of a study by Phillips et al examining age differences between initial post-concussion measures and one-month quality of life scores among pediatric concussion patients is presented. Age is an important consideration for pediatric concussion patients and is a key factor in clinical decision making acutely post-concussion. These acute age-related differences may not translate to persistent symptom or quality of life differences at one-month post-injury. Clinicians should be mindful that younger individuals may have lower neurocognitive scores on many metrics acutely post-concussion. |
