Zusammenfassung:Chelonian blood cells can have great morphological variability and their identification may be problematic and subjective. This article, the second in a two-part series, describes the types of blood cells found in turtles and tortoises, discusses the main problems with their identification, and reviews the possible sources of variation in haematological results. The first article, published in last month's issue of In Practice (May 2017, pp 194-202), described the collection and handling of chelonian blood samples.
