Synthesis of (5Z,5´Z)-3,3´-(alkane-α,ω-diyl)bis[5-(2-pyridylmethylidene)-2-methylthio-3,5-dihydro-4H-imidazol-4-ones] and their coordination compounds with copper(ii)

A synthesis of copper( ii ) coordination compounds based on the new tetradentate organic ligands from the series of (5 Z ,5´ Z )-3,3´-(alkane-α,ω-diyl)bis[5-(2-pyridylmethylidene)-2-thio-3,5-dihydro-4 H -imidazol-4-ones] was suggested. Biological activity of the copper( ii ) coordination compounds was studied, their ability to inhibit telomerase activity was shown.
