IMPACT OF STATIN THERAPY ON COLLAGEN TURNOVER AND LEFT VENTRICLE FUNCTION AFTER ST-ELEVATION MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION: A RANDOMIZED CLINICAL TRIAL

Conclusions: Statin treatment, in the acute phase of MI, reduces collagen synthesis and degradation (turnover), apparently through reduction of oxidative-inflammatory response, and attenuates LV adverse remodeling and diastolic dysfunction.
