Besides hypokalemia, risk factors of TdP in the setting of prolonged QT interval include hypomagnesemia, and hypocalcemia, as well as medications which inhibit the outward potassium channel, IKr, and, therefore, slow phase 3 repolarization and prolong the QT interval.
