Zusammenfassung:As a part of the SUSEN project, CVR expands its research to the area of heavy liquid metals, focusing on the corrosion impact of the medium on mechanical properties of materials. In that respect, corrosion autoclaves are being developed to test tensile, fatigue and creep properties. The testing chamber was designed for experiments below 600°C with regulated content of oxygen in the medium (lead, lead-bismuth eutectic system). To ensure tightness and enable regulation of the oxygen content, argon protective atmosphere is kept in the system with a working overpressure up to 2 bars. The system consists of two chambers, with one of the chambers used for preparation of the corrosion medium and the other one for material testing. The melting chamber is constructed as a mobile chamber, which can be connected to other testing chambers where the melting medium can be pumped over. Testing cells are placed within the testing appliances and constructed with a maximum tensile stress of 10 kN. They are equipped with lugs for fitting screw-head-free bar specimens and small CT-specimens. The follow-up will be focused on the development of deformation measurement in heavy liquid metals.
