CONHECER E DESCONHECER: O sistema cooperativista e a gestão de uma cooperativa de transporte de passageiros em Roraima/KNOWING AND UNKNOWN: The cooperative system and the management of a passenger transport cooperative in Roraima

The present study has as general objective to identify the perception of the cooperative about a cooperative society and its management, in the city of Boa Vista, in the State of Roraima. For that, a quantitative-descriptive research was carried out, with COOTAR members. Evidence indicated that cooperative members perceive good management of the cooperative, and have knowledge about cooperativism and its principles. However, although the respondents stated that the principle of democratic management is necessary so that cooperativism does not lose its essence, little do they know the decisions taken by the board and never participated in management courses. In the suggestions proposed by the participants, they did not indicate management courses. Therefore, there is a dissonance between the discourse and the practice of associates, since even though they know that participative management is paramount, they do not perform it as co-responsible for the association, just as there is no practice of cooperative education in the organization.
