Zusammenfassung:A didactic and hands-on training symposium was conducted between data collection periods to 1) provide a comprehensive review of PICC insertion US technique, 2) develop Standard Work for measuring upper extremity vein occupancy and 3) establish Results August - December, 2014, 706 PICCs were inserted at SRMC. 25 of 706 patients (3.5%) with PICC insertions developed UEVTE. 48% of PICCs developing UEVTE had a vein occupancy >= 45%.
