ChemInform Abstract: Medium‐Ring Nitrogen Heterocycles Through Migratory Ring Expansion of Metalated Ureas

Indolines, tetrahydroquinolines, and related homologues undergo migratory ring expansion through deprotonation of their benzylic urea derivatives with LDA in the presence of DMPU to give benzodiazepines, benzodiazocines, or corresponding homologues with ring sizes of 8‐12, respectively.
