Etnografía del mercado de algas en Chile: transformaciones económicas y discursos en isla Apiao, Chiloé / Ethnography of the Seaweed Market in Chile: Economic Transformations and Discourse in Apiao Island, Chiloé

The article approaches, from an ethnographic perspective, the main economic and cultural transformations in apiao island (Chiloé, south of Chile), during the last four decades, from the penetration of the international market of seaweed in the area. It further examines the emergence of a discursive-symbolic conflict between the local actors, associated to the implementation of such market.
