At 7 days, there was acute nerve endoneurial vacuolation and complete coagulation necrosis of entire nerve branches, calcification of necrotic debris, and endoneurial inflammation with or without early reactive perineurial and endoneurial fibrosis with concomitant reduction in TH and/or NFP staining in necrotic and atrophic nerves, as well as a slight decrease on S100 staining.
