Narrative transformation of the tales of marvels in Tang and Song Dynasties: From "writing for entertainment" to "writing for conveying truth"

The aim of this article is to analyze the transformation process of Chinese classical novels, with the narrative theme transforming from history-biography literature to 'writing for entertainment' and finally returning to 'writing for conveying truth'. This transformation process reflects the changes of literature ideas in different dynasties. This article also points out the reasons behind the transformation process.
