E-learning as a Tool to Promote the Use of a Multidrug Resistant Organism Risk Assessment Among Infection Preventionists in Latin America

Risk assessments (RAs) are cornerstone for setting priorities in infection prevention. We incorporated a teaching module in multidrug resistant organisms (MDROs) to our annual multicenter e-learning course for Latin American infection preventionists. The components of the MDRO-RA module consisted of: a 2-hour web-based lecture; a user manual; and, an Excel-based RA that auto-generated scores, results graphs and provided an action plan template. We tested the applicability of this tool during the 2015 course.
